Alejandro Vega
In the rigor of drawing, I find deep meditation and peace. While training as an architect, I discovered in geometry a means to develop my own language for expressing abstract ideas, and in technology, a means to significantly reduce the economic resources involved in creating metalwork.
In an era of high walls being erected, I build barriers against the brutality of social repression, barricades that serve as meeting places and places of recognition of others in the search for our own reflection.
Along the way, he recognized that different points of view offer different truths and, as they remain permanently in the public space, they will become symbolic barriers that will safeguard the lives of those seeking refuge.
Alejandro Vega Beuvrin, a Venezuelan-Italian born in 1979, emigrated to Spain in 2014 and left his academic and architectural work behind to focus on developing a new career as a sculptor.
Since then, his work has been exhibited in public spaces in Caracas, Paris, Madrid, and Shanghai. His works can be found in private collections around the world.
